Corporate Style Guide

Considerable time was spent in developing the brand identity for CentraCom. This brand identity is displayed in different forms that appear in such places as product brochures, advertisements, and the Internet. The visual element, or logo, used to capture this brand identity needs to be protected through all forms of communication to our audience. This visual element is known as our corporate signature.

The value of our corporate signature lies in the equity that is generated as it becomes associated with our business and our standards of quality. Consistent visual representation forms a positive and distinct image of CentraCom in the minds of our audience.

Maintaining this consistent use of our signature is critical. Any deviation from the standard look results in a misrepresentation of our company, our brand image, and our integrity. The Corporate Marketing Department will generally coordinate and oversee most of CentraCom’s literature and graphic illustration production. However, there will be circumstances that will require usage by other departments or third parties. Proper Spelling and Text Usage

In text form, CentraCom must be typed as one word with a capital “C” followed by lower case “entra” followed by a capital “C” followed by lower case “om.” CentraCom is not an acronym and should not be used in all upper case.

When referring to CentraCom, do not attach any words to the name, such as Corporation, Technologies, Telecom, Internet, etc. CentraCom should appear by itself when referring to the company. This promotes a consistent and unified presence for our company.

Logo Usage

The CentraCom logo is an important and invaluable asset for creating corporate identity. The CentraCom logo and logotype have carefully defined spacing and size requirements and should not be modified. It should never appear in conjunction with any other symbol, icon, text or be contained within another shape. The logo should never be screened back or used in any other color. To ensure consistency in our brand deployment, Corporate Marketing must review and approve any item or document that utilizes the CentraCom logo. Any case for deviation must be presented to the Corporate Marketing department for authorization.

Minimum Size of Logo Reproduction
The logo should never appear below a minimum size of ¼ inch or 6.4 mm

Logo Clear Space Requirements
‘Breathing room’ is essential. When the logotype is placed in an area that is cluttered, it can become lost and will not effectively communicate the brand identity. To ensure that there is enough ‘breathing room,’ the minimum clearance between the logo and other elements should be equal to the height of the “C” letter.

Correct Logotype Usage
The CentraCom logo is to be used in its entirety as a general rule as shown below. Do not separate out the mark from CentraCom except as noted hereafter. When the background color (i.e. paper, fabric, ink) is not white, use the logo as white only. Where possible the background color should be one of the approved colors from the Corporate Color Palette (shown on the next page). If background color is lighter than 45% of black, the logo should be black.

Logo Mark Usage
Under special circumstance, the mark of the logo may be used as an isolated representation of the CentraCom logo. You must get explicit approval from the corporate marketing department before using the mark in isolation for any application. The same size, color and clearance requirements apply to the mark.

Color Palette

Standardization of colors is extremely important to set a company apart in a highly competitive marketplace. The official color palette for CentraCom contains certain colors for different actions. Each color is used to communicate a different identity for each product, as well as a different message to our audience. It is with this color palette that we are able to consistently represent our brand identity.

For applications such as clothing, transparencies, paint, and silk screening, ask the vendor to match the PMS* colors, and, if possible, provide the vendor with a color chip. If PMS match is not available, please use the Color Conversion Chart to convert the colors to CMYK or RGB.

Ideally the logotype should only appear in the approved color palette; however, that will not always be possible. With memos and printed fax forms, we need to use the same layout design as our four-color process printed materials.

Typography

The corporate fonts for CentraCom are CO Headline BD, CO Text, Myriad Pro and Adobe Garamond (and where this is not technically possible the closest matching font such as Arial and Times respectively should be substituted). CO Headline BD or Myriad Pro font should be used as a headline font. Myriad font should be used for small text because of its legibility at small sizes and on computer screens. Adobe Garamond should be used as the body text where possible. Arial and Times may be used for web pages as they are supported by majority of web browsers and it will be easiest to preserve corporate identity on WAP phones, digital screens, etc.

Achieve Maximum Impact

Proper use of the corporate standards will protect our identity and allow you to achieve maximum impact with your publications. As a general rule of thumb, refer to official publications to see how logos and signatures are used.

When in doubt – ask first. Corporate Marketing will make sure it is easy to find out the correct usage. Do not hesitate to ask for assistance or clarification on anything in this Graphics Standards Guide.
